May split up in the future. For now, though...
The city if very similar to Final Fantasy VII's "Midgar". Here's some existing artwork to help bring to life the images in my mind. Click the spoiler for images....
And finally, an example of how I imagine the normal FULL transformations to look like. The light is generated when the souls cross the Aether and Gaia realms (like a little rift/worm hole that leaks energy) and the light assumes the shape of the other being (just as the light suggests the leopards belly and body shape here) as it takes form. Partial transformations, and various other scenarios do not produce the same light. Things just materialize in different ways or morph into each other (like growing feathers or human nails becoming like claws). Will dive into this more later, too, of course. Just found an appropriate visual I wanted to share.

A gallows shop, cluttered, small, and the product's well protected.
On the right is a PERFECT example of the Dominion. It even has planes for scale and trains likes the city below in the image.

The Factory level would be similar to this. Note cars, more put together architecture, and lots of people.

This is similar to how I imagine the gallows city looking, extending out from under the plateau of the city.
Typical Final Fantasy - but a good example of the wasteland outside of Grand Tesla. It doesn't stretch too far though, and nature reclaims shortly beyond the dirt and returns to normal.
After the war, the destruction would be pretty typical I think. A city in ruins...
